MOV is a multi-catalogue search system which allows you to search across multiple catalogues of libraries of the Verona territory, specifically:
Verona University online public access catalogue (University of Verona)
Verona Bibliographic Archive (Municipality of Verona)
Library System of Verona Province (SBP Vr)
Besides, MOV provides access to:
OAIster
OAIster is an union catalogue of academic digital resources, such as e-books, e-journals, audio files, images, films, books. It provides access to resources contained in more than 700 traditional archives, using the Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting.
Usually, every bibliographic record provides a link to the full text or to the digital object when this is freely available, but the collection also includes materials whose access is restricted to certain types of users.
Open Directory Project
The Open Directory Project is one of the largest Web directories, constructed and maintained by a vast community of volunteer editors.
Project Gutemberg
Collection of free electronic versions of printed books.
After every query, MOV shows in the left column of the browser a series of "groupings",
that give information about your search and can be used to refine it, or to browse the archives.
Catalogues library networks or information sources browsed by MOV.
Subjects indications of subjects or topics related to your search
Authors persons or institutions related to your search
Dates of publication or creation of the material
When you click on a grouping word, the query is filtered and you can see only the
elements that satisfy this word. The grouping word is visualized in the "Search limits" navigation bar.
Groupings are recomputed and it is possible to click on another word to limit the search further.
To clear the limits you just have to click on the related word in the navigation bar "Search limits".
Advanced search
The advanced search allows you to limit your search to one or more specific fields.
This search generates the same groupings of the simple search.
Sorting
Search results are sorted by relevance, but it is possible to sort them by title or by date (ascending or descending).
Search results
Every search generates a list of results that are usually made of title and main author of the bibliographical document.
If you click on author, MOV searches all bibliographical documents linked to that author.
If you click on title, you open a window containing detailed elements about the bibliographic document.
Some of the elements are links that allows you to navigate into the databases.
A specific link gives access to the Catalogue of the library network or the external database that contains the bibliographic information.
